Assignment Overview

For this assignment, you will be writing a well-developed paragraph on the topic of success that includes research to support your ideas and using APA referencing. You will have the option between two topics. Please read the options below and choose ONE to complete for this assignment.

Option 1: What makes a person successful?

Write a paragraph explaining what you think makes a person successful. In order to provide supporting details and examples in the body of your paragraph, research a well-known successful person in your country or abroad and include these details as supporting evidence. Your paragraph must have proper paragraph structure and you must provide in-text citations of your research. You must use at LEAST 1 sources.

Assignment Specification Summary:

· Choose a successful person and do a library or Internet search of him/her. You must find at least two sources.

· Make sure that your sources of information (e.g. Internet sites) are reliable.

· Take notes on key details regarding what makes this person successful. Make sure to note where each piece of information is from.

· Write one well-developed paragraph on what you believe makes a person successful.

· In your paragraph, include supporting details from your research. You must include one quotation or one paraphrase.

· Use APA citations for your quotations and paraphrases.

· Provide a reference list at the end of your paragraph which includes the sources that you used (in APA style).

· Use both the present and past tenses correctly.

· Make sure your paragraph has a clear topic sentence, well organized support and a concluding sentence.

· Check your paragraph carefully for grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and clarity.
